WVSSAC to honor football champions from 1937-1969 during championship weekend

The WVSSAC invites past football players and coaches from state championship teams between 1937-1969 for a special recognition on Saturday, December 14, 2024. The event will recognize and celebrate past champions for their accomplishments.

Any players and/or coaches who won a WVSSAC football championship during that era are eligible to participate. The recognition will take place during halftime of the AAAA game that starts at 7 p.m. where they will be announced to the crowd.

Honorees will receive free admission to the event, while guests will need to purchase tickets. To confirm participation, eligible individuals are encouraged to complete a short form. The WVSSAC and the city of Charleston look forward to celebrating West Virginia’s football history with its past champions.
